Imitation Crab Casserole

Ingredients (basic Recipe):
2 cups imitation crabmeat, shredded (I use all 12 oz).
1 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 cup cooked rice or 1 cup diced potato
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 (10 3/4
ounce) can of cream of chicken soup
1 (8 ounce) can water chestnuts, chopped
1/2 Lb fresh mushrooms, chopped
3/4 cup of buttered bread crumbs

Optional ingredients (I add)
1 package slivered almonds
shredded cheddar cheese
jar of artichoke hearts, chopped
small package of small shrimp
French Fried Onions
Instead of adding butter to the bread crumbs I use Italian dressing.
In place of plain rice I use Knorr Rice Sides "Cheddar Broccoli" The entire 5.7 oz package.
Lawery's Seasoned Salt to taste or equivalent.

If you follow the original recipe do this:
1. Mix all ingredients, except bread crumbs, together and put into a large casserole dish.
2. Top with buttered bread crumbs
3. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.


If you use my added ingredients:
1. Add the slivered almonds & artichokes to the original mixture when blending together.
2. Put 1/2 the mixture into the casserole dish then sprinkle on the cheese and shrimp and some seasoned salt. Put the remainder of the mixture on top then cover with the bread crumbs followed by the French Fried Onions.
3. I bake the, now large, casserole at 350 for 40 minutes.
